Kind words from a supporter …..

”There has been nobody in the county that has made quite the impact you have made in 2 1/2 years - thank you for that and keep it up!”

We have known Tom and his family for over 25 years. Tom has always proven to be reliable, honest, consistent and a pillar of hope and faith. We were first introduced to, and fell in love with, Hilton Head Island based solely on the praise and endorsement from Tom and Kris. Twenty-five years ago HHI was a much quieter, welcoming and serene environment. As we all know, although change is always necessary, the importance of not losing who we are in our souls is even more important. Tom lives by this belief not only in his day to day life, but he also believes this to be true for Hilton Head. Tom does not want the soul of the island to be compromised just to “fit in”. Tom will always want, and fight for, keeping Hilton Head true to who it has always been. He will not compromise the beauty or integrity of HHI for any reason. He will always stand by his words and promises and we have no doubt that Hilton Head Island will benefit and thrive with Tom representing you. —-Suzanne & Bill Moll

What matters to Tom :

  • Being a voice for the residents with full transparency, honesty & integrity

  • Protecting and preserving the environment and natural resources of HHI and all of Beaufort County

  • Encouraging better collaboration between the town and county

  • Controlling growth - no more upzoning

  • Utilizing existing structures for commercial development

  • Addressing our infrastructure needs -stormwater, transportation, medical services, schools, etc.

Tom has been a personal friend for many years. Hilton Head Island, as well as Beaufort County, have been at the forefront of most of our conversations. Tom is transparent, honest, fair on growth, and fair on future improvements. He will listen to all of us instead of pushing his own agenda that is propped up by BIG money. Tom has walked many of our streets introducing himself, and there is no doubt, he is a man of the people and a man of his faith. We need Tom’s stronger voice for District 11 County Council. —- Janie Friend

Why re-elect Tom for County Council - to represent you and your interests alone.

He’s not just another political leader who doesn’t have the resident’s best interests at heart.

Tom is a man of the people and is a voice for all who live in Beaufort County District 11.

Tom believes in full transparency and you won’t hear what’s going on with your local and county governments years after decisions have been made, he tells you now.

Tom knows how to listen to the people, understand their needs, and get things done.

“Thanks Tom, for undertaking this enormous task! Your speech this past Thursday gave me so much hope for our community. So honored to be part of your team!” Holly Floyd Hicks

What is Tom’s Purpose as a County Council Member and What Does He Do For You?

Tom’s purpose as a County Council Member is to be a true representative of the people of District 11 by bringing your thoughts, ideas and concerns to the Council. He does all he can to protect and preserve what we all value about Hilton Head Island and all of the lowcountry, and he’s going to be sure the county government works together with the town government to make the best decisions for you and your island’s future.

He is your go-to man for any concerns you have no matter how small.

“Tom and Kris loved Hilton Head long before we met them twenty years ago. They convinced us to vacation there, and we ended up investing in a vacation spot. Tom and Kris traveled the country, but were always drawn back to the island, finally deciding there was no place else they would rather live. It’s great when we visit. We have a guide that knows the ins and outs of Hilton Head.

The things we love about Hilton Head are that it’s supportive of businesses without looking commercialized (think Myrtle Beach). Tom understands with the huge influx of people moving to the area, this uncommercialized feeling must be preserved. Tom has been part of several successful small companies; he knows what is needed to support the local restaurant and shop owners while allowing the larger enterprises required to serve the population. This balance must be preserved.

Tom’s views are generally conservative, but he is always open to hearing opposing views. He is guided by his Christian principles, and believes people should follow their heart. We may not agree on everything, and that’s okay, because that has only strengthened our friendship. Tom is a worker, and as long as I have known him ,he has the patience to work for the long-term goals. He feels strongly about HHI or he would not do what he does.

Like everything he does, it’s all in!”

Bill McKool

Hilton Head Island

Tom is passionate about protecting the natural beauty, charm and ambience of our island and all of the lowcountry. The natural surroundings and wildlife of our environment are what brought us all here to begin with. Did you know that in the next 10 years they expect the Southern Beaufort County area to double in size? Of course you know that, you already see it happening. There are many things that are going to have to be done and agreed upon to protect our area during this growth. One thing Tom doesn’t support is massive structural growth and a disregard for our beautiful land. He wants to preserve what we have, and protect our open spaces. There have been many changes over the years with a great deal of commercial and residential building, and if things continue as they are, our neighboring community of Bluffton and our island will never be the same.

Why does it all matter?

It matters because we all live here. It matters because if things continue as they are you won’t recognize the island you always loved. Maybe you were lucky enough to be born and raised here, but if not, you moved here because of how Hilton Head Island made you feel when you first arrived. It’s about our trees, our beaches, our bike paths, our wildlife, our nature preserves, our character, and so much more.
